DRM free version?
This might not be the perfect place to ask this but it looks like the most convenient way to contact the dev, so...

Will there be a DRM free version of Axiom Verge available when the game releases in the Humble Store? Or will it be Steam (key) only?

Btw thumbs up for working on a Linux version, looking forward to that. :)

We're planning on releasing on GoG at some point, but not necessarily for launch.

Oh, didn't know, that's great. Will GOG be the exclusive distributor of the DRM free version? Or The Humble Store too? Either way, I'm going to wait for the DRM free release.

Thanks for the fast response!
No reason this game has to have DRM even on Steam. For example, you can run the Psychonauts executable directly, no need to open Steam.

Ya, thats fine too but I prefer other services (GOG and Humble) due to the simple fact that those don't require a client software to download the game for any plattform. :)

Anyway, looking forward to the GOG release and still hope that a DRM free build hits the Humble Store on May 14th.

What about Humble? I don't care for GOG. Honestly, I prefer Steam, but I like having the DRM-free option too for various reasons. Humble is the best of both worlds, when they give us both.

Humble Bundle only offers you to buy the steam key. Sadly no DRM Free version of axiom verge.

For now, but that may change. https://twitter.com/AxiomVerge/status/599043483551141888

That's precisely what keeps me from buying the game right now. :)

I really hope to see a DRM-free version on the Humble Store!

DRM-free allows people to play the game at work for example, which is the only time we can find to play for some of us.

I have a friend who doesn't have internet at home, and he really wants the game after trying it at my place. I had to tell him that there's no DRM-free version yet that I'm aware of. Unfortunate.

I guess Axiom Verge is still coming to GOG.com if nothing has changed.

It has been a while. Any news on the gog.com release?

I'm also curious about the gog.com release.

I have the game on my PS4, but I'm waiting for a DRM free gog.com release before buying it again on PC.

Well, if you absolutely must have a DRM-free copy, Indiebox did a box a while back for it and it includes a USB card with a DRM-free version of the game on it. And a nice bust of Elsnova as well.

And how are you supposed to update the game then?

I do not know. If I remember correctly, the files on the USB are just installers for Windows/Mac/Linex and the soundtrack in MP3s.
