You working on both of the Problems?
I'm also affected by incorrect mapping.
Plus I noticed that game ignores gamepad input when multiple controllers are connected which ruins basically whole game for party gaming. :/
You can use xboxdrv userspace driver with --mimic-xpad option.
I wrote a script that automatically removes xpad module and starts one instance of xboxdrv for each connected controller. I would recommend running it in terminal as it's easier to interrupt with CTRL+C.
Sudo is required for both modprobe (to remove kernel module) and and xboxdrv.
Sending interrupt to script kills all xboxdrv instances and loads xpad kernel module.

Thank you but this should be fixed in a real way by the developers. It is just about get the game going. Imagine you have this game installed on a steam machine wich is the usecase this game seems designed for. And there is no way to rebind your controllerbuttons. This is not a minor issue as it prevents you from playing the game on an official supported OS.
Any update?
Thanks
