Star Wars: Knight Of The Old Republic has closed unexpectedly

I could understand if it was my first time loading it up or if I'd altered my settings recently, but I've been playing this game all day and all of a sudden it's developed an issue on a specific loading screen.
****SPOILER ALERT****
After fighting Darth Malak for the first time, your character and Carth escape on the Ebon Hawk and a turret section begins which has you shooting down Sith Fighters. All of this plays fine with no issues or loading errors. Upon destroying all of the ships a short cutscene plays which shows your ship somersault in victory. A second cutscene starts which shows the ship jumping into Hyperspace. The loading screen between this cutscene and the rest of the game is the issue. The loading bar reaches the end and it appears as though the game will continue, when the window closes and my Mac informs me that the game has closed unexpectedly. When I click on additional information, hoping for an explanation or the name of a file that has developed an issue, the computer sends an error report and reopens the game....

Any help would be greatly appreciated
