Can't start the game (Crashes as I make my character)

So, simply said, the game starts off pretty normally, and I sorted out a few things that could potentially help but still no solutions.

So I make my character, all fine and dandy there, but as soon as I press "Play", the game crashes to desktop and it leaves me disappointed.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? I would really like to play this game as it's something I haven't played in a long time.

Turn frame buffer effects off in the menu.
