kotor game crash help plz

just after versing the dark lord for the first time and my side ♥♥♥♥♥ stays behind to hold him off go to the hanger escape of me ship get in a space fight destory the fighters get to the cutscene and the game crashers come up with kotor has stop working anyone know of any thing i can do to fix it would like to finish the game

Although these things don't cause mid-game crashes, it's good to check if you've turned them off:
1) Disable Frame Buffer Effects
2) Disable Soft Shadows
3) Try running the game in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3

* Disable V Sync
Try experimenting with V Sync so try turning it off and if it doesn't work, try leaving it on.

Another likely explanation is that your save file got corrupted, but you don't have to worry about that, it's easily fixed. Just reload some earlier save and keep saving on that earlier save, it should fix the issue. Remember to save more often in the future so this problem doesn't occur again! :DD

There is a known issue at this point. If you are controlling Carth when you board the Ebon Hawk it will crash like this. Make sure you are controlling your main character and it should be OK.
