Tweaking FSX Steam Edition

FSX: Steam Edition by default comes with a few tweaks, however many more tweaks can be applied. This guide will go over in game settings, .CFG config, using NVIDIA Inspector, and a bonus rain tweak.

Thank you Shuttle099 for your outstanding tweak guide. I applied your suggested settings and I have NEVER seen FSX look so good! The jaggies are almost entirely gone from my system at last. The program runs beautifully and is the cleanest I have seen.

And, I have been with FSX since it came out, with FS9 prior to that.

will these tweaks work without the dx10 enabled?

using the dx10 with steves dx10 fixer, will that have a toll on my fps? I only have a stock i5 3.4 ghz with nvid 660 2g and i want to use all my orbx scenery and airports and rex etc.

no vsync? i get tearing then, explain. Didnt see any 10% fps boost at all. Thanks for sharing anyway

And why do you enable antialiasing within fsx menu if you have it to overide application settings in nvidia inspector???

ohh i see. Thx for your advices and i use them and have pretty good smooth fsx. Thanks a lot.

One more thing. Are you using fsx steam in windowed mode and is that the recomended way of running it? I didnt get the tearing in windowe mode but felt i had more stutters. Im going for the first setup with full screen and vsync half refresh rate in nvidinspector.
