Before whiners start whining about FM changes in January :
JP blog (lolUS blog as usual) explains that they did that for various reasons :

- that FM was a "one shot" and could never be won again
- most of that FM was "unreachable" for most players (harder survival modes)
- most of that FM was from grindy content that players hated
- to balance AE newcomers and "early adopters" (no reason to give AE newcomers millions of FM when they just received 1M2 worth of content (solo modes were about 1M3 FM FYI) and punish early adopters at the same time)

They plan on giving more FM from weeklies and from EX battle, to compensate, so that people win FM from "playing the game and having fun" instead of grinding for FM.

Seems ok to me ...

I'll link this in the FAQ's, though it would be great if you could post the link to the JP blog (I know, that users would need to run it through google translate, but just for the sake of completeness I would like the link)

They removed the easiest way to get FM and replaced it with an even more tedious grind. Of course you think it's okay. You're one of the biggest Capcucks around Frenchie.

Of course it hard and grindy for you, you're stuck in bronze and can't get out of it.

You need damn Silver Skills to beat hard Survival!

You didn't read the post did you?

Instead of playing 49 matches against a button reading AI, and getting nothing for losing, there are now smaller more frequent, less time demanding methods to earn FM.

They took the tediousness out of it.

The important part that was left out from US blog is near the end.

Missing context from the USA blogpost-

Up to now, the method of obtaining FM was available by evenly clearing various contents, but partial contents such as survival and trial have a high degree of difficulty, and a beginner player has strict specifications and It was getting. After the update planned to be carried out on January 17, play content that is repeatedly delivered, such as a clearing of the target or an extra battle, mainly not a FM acquisition means which is acquired at one time, such as a story trial / demonstration of all characters By doing so you will be able to acquire FM. Even those who have already cleared various contents until now will have more opportunities to acquire FM.

Bullet points that got left out of the US blogpost

Trials and Survival were too hard for a lot of players. While the FM was "available", they couldn't earn it. (No argument there)
There will be more FM made available through EX Battle, Weekly Missions, etc. than there currently is under the current setup.
They want to move all FM earnings to be achieved by playing Arcade/VS mode (via EXP) and through weekly/monthly quests and events.

Which is of course reasonable, IF they put enough FM in the system. I understand that they want players to earn FM with the fun stuff, not grinding Survival or Trials for hours.

TL;DR: Capcom is increasing the payout per week with weeklies and extra battle to make up for the loss of that first time gain FM. It's going to benefit sfv early adopters from day 1 (assuming you did the stuff) and eventually make up for the loss for AE owners.

Yeah, you prefer one time only FM and grinding Survival ? Interesting

I prefer FM from things like "Play 10 casual matches" or "Use V-Trigger 10 times", which is painless, gained by just playing a few matches every week "for fun".

As usual Apathy : you rant over the dumbest things ... you'll never change I guess ...

-Good luck- with convincing people that grinding Survival for one-time FM is better than more FM from weeklies and EX battle challenges ...

I'm ok with the change until they put normal+ survival as part of the monthly challenge.

That would defeat the part where they admitted that some things were too hard for regular players :)

But I would laugh hard if they did that :) lol

Anyway, they're just basically removing "means to get S1 and S2 characters", in a way, so that people that buy AE don't get BOTH S1+S2 characters AND millions worth of FM ... which would be unfair to early adopters that supported the game from day one.

All that FM was used to unlock stuff that will be included in AE ... and people that still didn't unlock all characters, still have a month to do so (that's plenty enough).
let's just wait n see. somehow i smell scam. i hope im wrong

I don't connect to Americans at 130+ ping so I don't really have an advantage like say you and the rest of the Europoors. And no you don't. AI is retarded. The only thing you need is good luck on RNG for the powerups between rounds.

https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/895976-street-fighter-v/73413562

Survival (which you'll still need to grind if you want colors and don't want to spend money) currently spits out:

6,000 FM + EXP for Easy
10,000 FM + EXP for Normal
15,000 FM + EXP for Hard
27,000 FM + EXP for Hard

Story mode spits out 10,000 FM per character + EXP.

1 level = 1,000 FM

So let's just say you only do Easy/Normal survival and story. That's 26,000 FM + levels. I don't remember how much EXP it gives you or what level you end up at this point. So let's just say it's 26,000 FM. That's an entire month of weekly missions on average. Do this with 4 characters and you've earned enough FM to buy 1 DLC character.

You can do this x's 4 in like a night easily. Just survival up to finishing normal. The real reason Capcom is gutting this system is because doing just this with 28 characters is going to result in 7 free DLC characters. Which is all of season 3 + 1 of Season 4. Four Season 3 characters will spit out 1 free DLC character. Two season 3's plus 2 of the season 4's is going to result in a third Season 4. Just from this basic FM grinding.

I read the blog post and I'm lost on something. It says that " FM can be earned with existing clearing fee until January 17th update, but since the update, the specification will be changed so that FM can not be acquired by clearing the story · trial · demonstration." So does this mean I have until jan 17 to get gud enough to beat normal because I've only been able to beat normal with one character so far, easy with all characters, but normal with just one. Also I didn't see it in the blog post but I wouldn't put it past capcom to wipe all FM during season 3 I hope it's not the case but I need to know if I need to spend my stockpiled FM now or if it will be gone later. I'd rather save if for characters, but if it's going away I have stages I still need to pick up.

FM carries over but you only have until next month to earn it from the removed modes. Starting then they only reward exp. So Normal Survival goes from 10,000 FM + exp to just exp.

Yeah, just saw the capcom-unity blog post. Whew. I have 200,000 FM stocked up, and was freaking out for a second.
