Save games location
Anyone know where it is? Already tried the default folder in Steam but don't see it.

I'm going to be changing out hard drives this weekend and I would prefer to not have to start over if I can help it.

Perhaps he wants to copy it to another computer? Maybe he's formatting and doesn't want to lose progress? Maybe he's modding it to give himself 9 million shotgun shells.

Thanks, that would appear to be it. My file there shows to be updated right about the time I did my last save and exited the game.

I can confirm that save data lies in that binary file. I did a quick send to recycle bin, looked what changed and then restored from recyle bin and my save file was restored. Anyone have any luck finding a good way to modify .bin files? I have no interest in playing for leaderboard shenanigans and if I ever were to, I'd do it the honest way (I put my serious RE time in back when I was in HS and now just want to play for nostalgia sake).

I'd be into this if it could give me Barry's .40 handgun.

Not talking about his .44 revolver but the special .40 Beretta Samurai Edge that you get for completing within 5 hours.

I disagree: I just wanted to check this information so I deleted the folder completely started RE and still found the save files. Thus there has to be one more folder / save file anywhere. Could it be in the cloud since RE supports this feature. Is a save file stored there automatically?

The question is, if I deinstall the game and reinstall it in a couple of years, are my achievements stored in the bin file of this folder 304240? Can some1 confirm that? I am just asking because some achievements need others to be done beforehand and saved in a file to get them (eg. costumes or weapons etc.) Thus I need to be sure whether the save remains in the cloud or in the bin file.

Yeah, the game stores saves in Steam Cloud, and tracks achievements there too. As long as you keep Cloud enabled, you can reinstall the game as many times as you want and your saves will be there.
