Split/Second

Split/Second

How to play Split/Second online.
As many of you have discovered, the multiplayer service for this game has been discontinued. Fortunately, there's still a way to play with other people online through a service called Tunngle[www.tunngle.net]. You will need to register for an account, but the service is completely free.

Tunngle is a VPN program that allows your computer to simulate a local network connection via the internet to connect with other people without the need for port forwarding. It has lobbies for many games, including Split/Second. You can find the lobby under the Sports category.

Once you join that lobby, you will be able to play online via the LAN option in the main menu. Just be advised, there are no rankings in this mode, and you won't be able to tell exactly where every player is from, so there may be high latency.

You could also use Hamachi since it does the same thing.

Thing is, Tunngle has a network browser that makes it easy to find, as well as the ability to create 32-player networks for free. Hamachi is limited to 5 unless you pay up.

I play sonic all stars racing transformed on steam. Why couldn't we play split second on steam too ?

I mean I play multiplayer online games with sonic all stars transformed. So what about split second ?
Split/Second was originally programmed to use its own online servers that were shut down years ago. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was designed to use Steam for online match-making from the beginning.

They're completely different games.

ok, thanks for your answer. How can we know which games on steam are "compatible" or even designed to use Steam for online match-making ? I know there are some symbols saying that it's "multiplayer game" but it doesn't say if it's a "steam multiplayer online match making". Do you know we can figutre it out?

So we have to sign up for another account if we want to play online? Grrrreeeeeaaaat...another thing my mom will piss about...if she finds out.

there is nothing to do with creating another account locogamer,
You need a Tunngle account in order to utilize the service. Re-read the original post.
