strange startup problems

I have started the game up for the first time and the game's mapping, I guess, or resolution, is completely broken. The texts and where you can actually select the buttons are not in the same area, so for selecting the language all the languages were on the upper half of the screen however to select the language I had to go through the middle of the screen and guess where each one was, and the music is also completely messed up for the game. it, like, repeats over itself twice on startup. I'm not sure what is wrong
