FPS-lock?
I just probably missed it, but is it confirmed that it has a FPS-lock or will it run with 60fps if possible?

should run at 60fps this is the original pc version version that was supposed to come so i wouldn't see why not.

Yep, that will be awesome.

60 would still be a fps lock

How about 120 FPS?

It's not confirmed if the PC version is capped, or uncapped.
PS3 was capped at 30 fps, however sometimes dropped below.

PS3 version, 30fps cap (maybe can unlocked in some ini file) i think. But maybe im wrong, Last Remnant have fps totally unlocked, depend on monitor or v.sync..we see:)

FF13 isn't the sort of game that'll really benefit from 60 fps, you don't turn fast or move fast or attack fast. you spend most of your time looking at ATB gauges and health bars

It looks better, and that's what matters.

Because most publishers (i.e. Capcom with Dead Rising 3) only deliver 1:1 ports of the Console versions thus a 30 FPS Cap. You don't see the difference but you feel that 60 or 120 FPS are much smooter.

Noticing they are much smoother IS seeing the difference.

This is a good question, and we don't know. I sure HOPE it's not capped, or that the cap would be something acceptable like 60 FPS. I've gotten to the place where I really can't stand 30 FPS.

That's not true at all. Capcom usually has their PC ports run at 60 and Square has made a number of good ports. Hell, There's only a handfull of ports locked at 30 with no GFX improvement, and most of the the games like that are PS4/XBOX ONE ports. Besides, the game's combat is menu driven so 60 FPS is not going to make a huge difference gameplay-wise. Anyways, as long as the game's logic isn't tied to framrate (and I doubt it is due to the PS3 verson's FPS drops) The framerate should be unlocked. If not, It's probobly hackable through a few ini tweaks, like Killer Is Dead.

The reccommendation of a 460 for graphics seems to suggest that the game has some sort of enhaced visuals, as the PS3's chipset has about the power of a GTX 8800 give or take a bit and can't do DX11 (which the game supports). 60+ FPS, high res textures, higher resiutions, more use of the higer quality charicter LOD models, improved shaders, Bokeh DOF, ect. are all quite likely.

Based on the 60GB size you can expect the game's numerous Pre-Rendered CG cuscenes to be largely uncompressed and 1080p. Hell, due to the size jump we may see the Japanese versons included as well, as all the cuscenes were re-reneded with english lip-syncing for the english dub. After all, the jump happed after everyone clammered for the Japanese verson.

High res textures are pretty likely as Square has vastly improved their archiving sence the PS2 days. The entire reson that Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD and FFX HD took so long to make was due to Square's poor archiving. It's pretty clear that this is not a full on remake like that. Devs always make textrues bigger than they need to be, then scale them down to fit within RAM. That's why so many PC ports have them. And even if we don't get that, the textures for the higher detail charicter models are shockingly good for a PS3 game.

Square's RPGs from the 6th gen and later ususally hold up pretty well visually, just look up some screens from FFX, Kindom Hearts, The Last Remnant, and FFXII. They are great in the asthetics department which translates to the visuals ageing really well.

I believe you can achieve your own FPS lock through nVidia Inspector if you have nVidia card. It what I did when some game being visual glitchy like State of Decay (I set it 73 fps locked since it stop that weird background skipping when I pan the camera) and Resident Evil Revelation (60 fps locked because ingame kept defaulting to variable FPS every time I load the game) through nVidia Inspector.
