Try asking in the Final Fantasy Modding steam group. We are working on a ton of mods and the owner of the group Krisan Thyme is an active FFXIII modder.
Download links are dead (again?).
I would REALLY appreciate it if someone can provide the No BGM file for the japanese version.
I have found this link in PCGamingWiki that works with the English version but doesn't seem to work with the japanese version.
https://mega.nz/#!9042wT4A!eS8tsT1b5k34IvvAJoRw7uoSvolwgo2g5h07-ShLYn8
It does work with the japanese version if I use my mind and don't follow every step of the instructions to the letter.
The difference is that the sound folder in the link is from the English version so there's a folder named "usa" that doesn't exist in the Japanese version. Tha'ts why when I copied the files it didn't replace anything.
Just took the individual music files from the link and pasted them on the ones from the game's ♥♥♥ version files.
I recommend not donating, since it isn't a donation. This is close to extortion. It takes 2 seconds to drag and drop a file, and then just waiting for it to upload. It wouldn't be as bad if he was asking for support for FFXIII-LR, but instead he's saying that he won't upload the files that he originally uploaded either.
What's interesting is that he posted a screenshot as proof of his conversation with Krisan, being the supposed reason for no longer hosting the files, but he fails to mention that he had a meltdown shortly after. He created another thread calling Krisan every name in the book. He then edited his thread and asked for it to be deleted.
Since I'm a moderator at the FF Modding Group, I deleted his thread, understanding that he probably had a bad day. I did not screenshot his meltdown, nor keep it up because I understood that people make mistakes.
I however had no idea that he posted that screenshot of his conversation with Krisan, attempting to make Krisan look bad. Now he's demanding a pre-order in order to re-upload his files. I almost wished I would have kept his thread around, but thankfully it isn't so that way it doesn't tempt me to stoop to his level.
This isn't about the donation itself. This is a combination of things.
First:
I completely understand how easy it is to misunderstand text. It's not hard to assume someone is being sarcastic, angry, mean, etc if you imagine a word conveyed in a different tone. That is sadly the disadvantage of the English language.
Let me be clear though, that I know for a fact that Krisan wasn't trying to offend you, and to be totally honest, you can even see that in the text that you screenshotted. Rather than assuming that it was said in a sarcastic, belittling tone. Imagine that the first sentence was actually sincere "I appreciate the gesture", and imagine the second sentence being sincere as well "When I have the time". Both sentences can be taken in a sarcastic or in a genuine tone. You sadly assumed that he was trying to offend you.
This is a complete misunderstanding, and it's sad that after all of this time, you still didn't re-read it and realize your mistake.
Second:
How often have you seen modders ask for a donation in order to re-upload their files? It just doesn't happen. If anything, it makes someone not want to support the person. If you want to successfully get help from your fans, that isn't the way to do it. If I were you, I'd re-upload the files because I care about my fans and also because I would do it out of appreciation of my own work and the time I invested in the project. It sitting on my hard drive only benefits myself.
The only thing that potentially makes sense, is asking for donations/gifts in order to help contribute to future projects like your FFXIII-LR BGM Mod project. But you aren't modding for us, you're modding because you are doing it for yourself and you want to release it because you're proud of your work.
If you aren't doing it for those reasons then it's not a passion, and it doesn't sound like you're a modder.
Third:
The screenshot of the public forum thread is a low blow, and definitely isn't right. Especially considering we had the courtesy of deleting your complete meltdown (that was based on an assumption).

Take all of that into consideration and do the right thing. Most importantly, get back into gaming, modding or whatever you enjoy doing. Rather than letting something like this get to you.
