Thanks for that information.
A state like "no official support (yet), but it should run (maybe at low speed, lower effects quality etc.)" would be at least "a sufficient starting point" from my point of view.
It would be very nice if you (Aspyr?) could give some information like "known issues" or "known limitations" to the linux release, for example regarding known visual problems etc. when using AMD HD7850 graphics cards.
(Some high end vendors of network equipment do this in their release notes, too, like "experimental support for IPv6", "problems refreshing routing information"... and so on. This could help so that known problems don't get reported over and over, and more technically advanced users could get an idea of current state of things)
I hope I didn't miss on this topic at another point, but if I'm right this means, when I unwrap my still factory sealed "25 years anniversary edition" of Civilization VI, enter its Steam code in my Steam client on my Debian system, and after download/installation completes, my purchase from last year should count completely towards Aspyr's linux port, regarding monetarization and so on, as I hoped when I bought this package on Amazon last year in August?
This would be great :-)
Then I just have to hope it successfully starts up on my AMD HD7870 as Civilization V does :-)
Pandora is the only Linux game I have purchased who could deliver a physical copy with a Linux installer. The installer was sent in a big DVD case, also downloaded and the game could be added to steam by getting a Steam key for that purchase.

It releases tomorrow if i'm not mistaken.

If you didnt know.
Discount should go live at 10am PST. We wanted to get the build live so we could test, and ensure no issues.
Roger that. I'll see about installing OBS then. I want to stream the first time I run this under linux.
(held off on buying this until the Linux version came out, just like Civ 5)
Thanks Aspyr for both games!
(now if we could convince Bethesda to let y'all port their games, I'd really be a happy camper)
:D
What's your Twitch (presumed) handle? I'll come check it out.
