Do the Steam versions of the X series of games have DRM?
Somoene told me after I purchased them through the Humble Bundle that he hopes that "Star-Force" doesn't wreck my system. :(

Nope. DRM was removed completely from the titles in a patch (even the non-steam versions).

You are right for being worried. Star-Force was one of the worst DRMs ever invented. It literally killed user's computers due to bad driver rootkits corrupting boot process. The backlash was so great they eventually removed all the DRM altogether.

Actually egosoft has a policy to remove any and all drm after a year if I'm not mistaken.
There's also a no-steam exe available on the website for windows, and the linux/mac version simply works without steam so you can do whatever you want with it.
