Multiplayer Only?
As the title says, is it multiplayer only? Do I have to be connected to a server to play?

Neros, Why are you posting the EXACT SAME question in multiple threads?

Search for your "other" thead where you asked the exact same question just a tiny bit differently. I answered you there, and please stop spamming your questions in multiple threads.

First of all, I didn't see my first post after posting it. Second of all, get off your high horse and don't worry about what I post. Maybe create a game where I'm not reliant upon your crappy servers to play a game I WAS going to pay for. Or maybe I'm in a place where there is no internet connection. It's sad that the creators are saying this isn't this or that, but it is exactly what they say it isn't if they are planning on forcing you to be online to play it.
All this besides the point, when you start paying my bills or I'm banging your wife or girlfriend, you can tell me what and how many times I can post.

Hi Neros,

It is possible to play single-player if you set a password on your world. That creates a private world, and you would need to share your password with someone to allow them access. Even if you left the password blank, someone would need to know the exact name of your world to join, so we don't often see uninvited guests.

If you're asking from the 'online' vs 'offline' perspective, the game currently needs an internet connection to work. We are investigating the feasibility of an offline mode.

Thanks!

Ahh, and as I was writing this I saw your last post. Please be respectful on these forums. We're trying hard to answer as many questions as possible in a timely fashion.

Thanks!

Thanks for your post thekrakenisme. I do aplologize for the indiscretion, I just didn't care for the matter-of-fact, overly-bossy tone from the previous poster. Your game looks great, and I don't see it as a MInecraft clone as you can't really copyright a common shape (square), though some seem to think you can. My problem is with the always-connected feature. I will wait for the offline mode as I'm interested in the game.

Awesome! Yes, we think there's plenty of opportunity to 'wait and see' especially since we'll be free after this Early Access period.

To reference your point about the 'common shape': I totally agree, but if you survey the landscape of sandbox-type games, you'll notice a lot tend to use much more compliated shapes and placing methodologies. We likes this 1m cube because it gives you a very easy grid to place/mine in, but can still look really great at scale!

Once people are playing the game, these 'clone' comments tend to disappear, as the game is actually quite different in some really fun ways, and since we're only at the beginning of our Early Access period, we're really only at the baseline. From here, many wonderful and exciting things will happen!

Please keep an eye on us if you don't choose to participate in Early Access; we'd love to know what you think! Thanks-

Sorry for sounding "matter-of-fact, overly-bossy" to you there Neros, however if you've been here on this games forums for the past few days, you might see things from my view. This game, just because people seem to think it's a clone of Minecraft from the screenshots, or because they hear the word "micro-transactions" immediaely jump to conclusions it seems and troll this game with numerous non-sense type posts. So when I saw you having very similar questions posted almost at the same time, I figured you were "spamming" just because you didn't get an answer immediately like some impatient posters do.

Anyhow, sorry for the unimplied context of my asking that you please don't spam the forums. it wasn't anything personal.

As far the the online requirement to play, I can see how that would be an issue for some people, even though in today's day and age, most people seem to be constantly connected. I also remember how angry people were when both Diabo 3 launched and also at that SimCity game that both required the constant online connection. So I get it, and respect your choice of waiting to see if this game ever does allow you to play completely offline.

I hope to see you in the game if that day ever comes, and hope as well that if you should get it, that you enjoy the game even half as much as I have. I've enjoyed it quite a lot so far!

Take care.

Actually I over-reacted and took you for somene that you're not also. I apologize for that. I actually bought the game and I find it great. I don't agree with people calling it a Minecraft clone. It's a breath of fresh air. I really like the mechanics and execution of the game.
Again, I'm sorry for going too far, it was a childish reaction and wish you the best of luck out there. Take care.

First, I think one should be allowed to change the password to a world even after the world is created, if one is the owner of the world.

Second, I think at least a import (restore backup) and export (create backup) should be implemented in the game. This allows for a lot of stuff, like, for example, custom maps made either as a story telling, tutorial, challange or example.

You made a great looking house? Share it! Want to explain someone how to do something using a lot of signs? Share that world! Got too many mobs and you're not experienced enough to survive them? Ask a friend to kill them for you! Discovered a bug? Save it, send it to the devs and restore the world to a previous state (by deleting it and importing an older version of the save).

Hi Sapioit,

Thanks for checking out the Creativerse forums! Some of these threads you've found are quite old and contain really out-of-date information. This one, for example, was from when Creativerse just launched about a year ago. Passwords have been changeable for a while.

There have been some good player conversations about what a backup/restore mechanic might mean for Creativerse, but it's not something that's currently in the plans. Thanks for your comments!

Why aren't you telling the truth for no offline mode?
Because an offline mode will:

- Let people find a way to host their own servers
- Make the game modable
- Last but not least the most important argument why there will be NEVER EVER an offline mode: Developers want to earn money with micro transaction. Therefore things need to be bound to the server.

Please don't act like people are dumb.

Hi user,

This is a really old thread that got resurrected -- Creativerse had been in Early Access for about a day when these comments were made. The devs have been fairly clear that an offline mode isn't in the works over the last year of development.

I'm gonna lock this thread so it falls back down the ranks for a while -- I don't want people to mistake anything here for current information.
