Some .mp3 and .dat files need to be converted to .ogg to have sound/voices and also you need to copy some libraries from the demo.
So basically you take a Windows installation of the game and use the Linux executable on it (like we did back then with Doom3 etc).
But yeah, is just for the kicks, it doesn’t really answer the OP question...
Yes, is possible like I (vaguely) described above.
It will not appear as a Linux game in your Steam library of course (that is up to Steam) but you can play it from a shortcut, no wine no nothing.
I didn't played all the way through (I'm not really a fan of the genre) but only few levels.
Just found these series and as a Wing Commander, X-Wing and Tie Fighter fan would love it!
