Honestly I dont get it at all. It is like a french art painting to me. Pretentiouse abnoxiouse (especially the music if you can call it that) looks maybe interesting but I tottally don't get it. Even Dear Esther was more clear than this and that game took me 3 Playtroughs to get it. But where Dear Esther looks awesome the textures here are more creepy then anything else. Even if I leave the Path The things I find are not interesting in any way and if I stay on the Path and go to the House it just ends in a wierd weak ending. If some people enjoy it I am happy for them. It is just nothing for me.

I am really enjoying The Path. Its very creepy in a subtle kind of way. It is a slow go, just exploration really. The subtlety is in the third act, the girls fate isn't so much spelled out as hinted at, depending on how many events you discover in the woods on the way to grandma’s house. Great to play on a rainy night, but only if a slow pace game interests you. Don't stay on the path, as the trailer says there is only one rule (stay on the path) which must be broken, and then you die.

FYI - if you decide to play this game, go to the steam page and read the instructions first, thier short but it explains the basics which helps since this is such a different type of experience.

Ok I gave the game another quick try and now at least the events seem to work. before when I ran into them nothing happened for me which I guess was a random Bug or so. It was not enough time for me to attempt a playtroughbut I will give it a go on the weekend however the singing s still awefull and does notting for me but let my ears bleed.

My thoughts exactly

It takes braincells

Preeeeeetty sure it doesn't take brain cells. It takes patience and an appreciation for tedious exploration. Uninstalled it after 30 minutes. Summary - (very) niche game.

You played a rather pretentious and meandering game. Understand that there's nothing to understand. It is intentionally vague. It leaves room for the player to fill in the blanks so they can think they're clever for "getting it".

It's like abstract art.

Abstract Art, like most art, isn't always good simply because it's abstract. There is such a thing as "bad art", even if some artists choose not to believe it themselves. How many bad artists have you never heard of? Many, I am sure.

Ok I did enjoy my 2nd playtrough a bit more but this game is clearly not for me. I am not somebody to enjoy artsy stuff like this it just creeps me out at times. And again the music choir is terrible. Did they pick the worst singers they could find or was the budget so low they had no other choise?
Well I be back to War adn sim games again and before people point & shout, yes I can enjoy a quiet game. I just loved Dear Esther for the Athmosphere Style and mystery but this..... Sorry but it is just wierd

Interesting game, I played it a bit, bought it on one of the bundle deals. Game pad controls aren't as smooth as I like and I don't like when you run for a bit camera angle changes. Its subtle eerie. More of a game to relax play.
