Fun game sometimes a bit unfair
Save and load 100% until you get your wanted result.

DLCs are... nice. choosens can be bit of spice to what you used to have in the vanilla game, a bit anoying when you have to deal with the timing and resources but yeh once you get the hand of what to build and what is better to deal with all that and become a master of reload it is perfectly fine.

As i said it is a bit sometimes a bit to much unfair the game will do (as we can call) the perfect impression of a 5 y'old kid trying to always win wich you can deny by saving and reload over and over until you get the end that you want (wich is also the same...huh...take it as fight fire with fire).
Missions may be repetitive i really hate the one that you have to mark the boxes, the one that you used to just fight with the fear of blow a car or the enemy just blowing the car near to a supplybox was more intense than moving your Squadmates~ to a well know death to mark a box.
Mods will make the game enjoyable or at the same time painful since it may make it crash ramdomly.
Besides all that the game is good it will consume your time and life like a leach will do with your blood.

By the end of the day you will just replay it or just leave it there until you feel the need to suffer to try it again.
Honestly i like it and recommend it.

A combat-heavy turn-based game like XCOM is a great idea, and I have had quite some fun going through the plot as well. However, the fundamental design in random mechanics claims its downfall. Specifically, the combat hit/miss relies on random numbers and chances, much like an DND game, and the player may strategize to maximize the chance of hit/miss. The difference between most DND games and XCOM is that the dice rolls of the latter are very punitive. For example, an in game scenario could be a 70% chance of hit and progress in the fight versus a 30% chance of miss and get killed, losing hours of progress on character build and training, unless the player is willing to constantly save and load to re-roll to defeat the random process. In other words, a successful roll yields incremental progress, but a failed roll guarantees dire loss. Given sufficient number of rolls, the overall outcome accumulates to the statement that the odds are always stacked against the player. Although it could be argued that such odds are very much representative of the hardcore-ness of the rebellion against the aliens, it is nevertheless more punishing than rewarding in terms of experience.
