Mouse movement affected by low FPS
I have a rather poor pc, limited to 30 or 60 fps depending on map, but some levels are just a nightmare with falling rain and other effects. All settings are on lowest to compensate. The problem is magnified 10 times when playing on 60 fps. I had to play "remix I" on 30 fps. "Clarity" is unplayable.

Any FPS drops makes following through after charge shot jumps extremely annoying, because as I flick back up, my mouse stays lower down or moves further than intended. The effects are akin to acceleration, but only happen when FPS fluctuates by a large margin. It's really off-putting to muscle memory, making dashing for walls a bit more tricky than it needs to be.

P.S. I'm an experienced player in quake 3 defrag, another speedrun game, so believe me when I say I don't play with acceleration. I've only just started this game (been playing for 2 days now).

Any insight/help would be appreciated.

We will diffidently look in to this if you experience it as a problem, as the mouse control is a very fundamental and important part of the game, it's important to get it perfect.

Though, now today we don't have much time, but tomorrow or the day after I will definitely look in to it, and would appreciate all feedback/info.

We have previously noticed that mouse pointer options in windows affect the mouse input for the game, so for now make sure you turn of the built in mouse acceleration in windows. We would like to implement it in a way where the game would not be affected by it, but that is how it is for now sadly.

Thanks for reporting it!

Appreciate your efforts.

As I said the issue is not persistent. Enhanced pointer precision is off. Slider is at 6/11. I'm using Windows 7 64bit. In-game sensitivity is "7" with no axis modifications.

That's weird though. Shouldn't raw input be independent of windows settings?

PC Specs as follows:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2310 (2.9GHz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B75M-D3H
Graphics card: AMD Radeon 6770 (1GB)
Ram: 2 x 2GB DDR3 1333MHz
Resolution: 1920x1080 (native)

Mouse: Logitech G400 rev2 (800 DPI)

We have now figured out what we did wrong with the raw mouse input, and it will be addressed in the next patch. Sorry it took us this long for something that should have been there from the beginning.

But if you still experience problems with the mouse input implementation after the patch, please let us know, so we can try to fix it once and for all. (Though I'm pretty sure we figured out the issue now)

2 Quick questions...

1) When is patch? :)

2) I will be upgrading my computer soon (30 fps @ 1280x800 is bad and I do not want to do that anymore).

Considering this game is rather unique in its rendering demands, how do equivalent cards from different manufacturers handle this game? I know there are distinct differences between Nvidia and AMD with regards to certain rendering techniques (tesselation, texel fill-rate etc.). So which one would do better in a game like this. Do you have benchmarks from test-rigs?

fyi: I am looking at possibly Radeon 9280 or Nvidia GTX 680/770. Either one will be a massive improvement, but I am interested in what is best for this game as I intend to continue playing it for a while yet.

1) The raw mouse stuff will be included in a beta for gameplay changes that will most likely start tomorrow (I hoped today, but it's getting late, and I'm not quite there yet). I will post more info about it once it's up and running.

2) We don't have that much experience with AMD cards sadly, all card we are using are Nvidia. The best card we have is an Nvidia GTX 660, so a GTX 680 should be more than fine, as we can run the game on all levels without any noticeable frame rate drops with medium draw distance.

And that is without the large optimizations of the backgrounds that I will try to fix during this week. So, I bet you will be fine with either of those cards, so it should be up to which you want to have for the future : )

The speed at which you reply amazes me. Thanks so much.

xD hehe... if I reply fast, it's just because I happen to see the messages then ^^ ... and that might happen more often because I sometimes stay up for too long o_o;

It's 7:44 AM here now.. and I didn't get any sleep as I was working on an optimization... I won't make any statements about how great effect it had, but it's sure makes a noticeable difference on the tests I've done so far. It will be included in the beta as well. I'm very curious to see the results now...

But martin will have to build and up load it as it will take a little too long for me to do right now (need to get home atm). But you should be able to expect the beta to arrive sometime today, unless there are some unforeseen problems.

(Sorry if my English is somehow worse than usual right now...)
