@Orphan Crippler; Have you used the proper startup commands to make it work? I can play both the regular and HD (Majesty 1 Gold) ones on my Windows 7 64-bit computer.

Game works fine for me, but then again I am not using the Steam Version

Is there a way to force install the 2001 physcial gold edition on modern pcs? I think I only need to override the "redudncacy check" for the cinematic, but I'm not sure.

Depends on what you mean by modern PCs. I got the original Gold Edition on Steam here (not the HD one) to work on my Windows 7 64-bit, without needing any command lines, unlike the HD version (oddly enough). Can't say it will work on a Windows 8 though.

Works perfectly fine on my win 7 64. A bit ass-hatty to tell people to not buy it because you have problems with it.

Yea, the HD version runs slow as hell, even with the game speed maxed. I tried different resolutions and it didn't improve it. Would also point out that I've tried it on both Windows 8 and Ubuntu with the same results.
