Production > Choose an Industry > Exports tab
Right panel of Exports tab, top portion > Automated Sales. It is slider controlled. Zero means no surplus is sold.
If Bulk and Automated are activated, you sell both ways.
Not sure what you mean by sliders are pink.. They are not pink in my game.
You will know the bulk sale has occured when you see an increase in your treasury and your stock of that item is down by the amount you sold in bulk.
You can see the World Market price on any commodity panel left side, bottom. It also shows your Production Cost.
Generally you only sell in bulk when you are looking for a large infux of cash and have a commodity with a large surplus. The thinking is; I have 1 million extra Consumer Goods and my treasury is low. They are selling on world market for $500 each. I can move a large amount if I sell in Bulk for $400 each. Sure, you may take a loss, if your Production Cost is more than $400, but that large influx into your treasury can tide you over in a pinch.
