Can't get HOI 3 Collection to work on Windows 10. I can get to Their Finest Hour scenario selection screen and even start and play the game. But saves don't seem to work. When I go back in I can't access any saved games. Thanks.

Game will not load in Win10, goes thru a couple of the startup screens and then errors out. I did the remove game and reinstalled, same issues. Dont know if I need to go to win explorer and remove other files?? Not sure about Win10, some games working alot are not

Same here just bought the collection and just stops responding after some loading. Sadly a refund really looked forward to this game

It's been working just fine for me under Windows 10. It does take QUITE some time to load, especially the first time, but it loads. If it doesn't load after five minutes, something is wrong.

same problem with my installation. Playing the finest hour game when I switch to the production or research tab it just flickers the screen and crashes. The reason probably is related with the graphics card. I have one laptop that uses the nvidia gtx 850m ot the on board intel 5500 . Both have teh same effect, loading an old game and crashing after couple of minutes with the same effect.

I've heard the 850M is having issues with the recent NVIDIA drivers (actually all the 800M's). Still, have you done a file verification to make sure everything downloaded OK?

Sounds to me like all of you have different issues. The OP (from back in August) is having issues with finding save games. DK gets a proper error when loading. Fullmatad locks up while loading. You have issues with parts of the AI not working.

I got a new computer with windows 10, GTX 980m and i7-6820. I have reinstalled Hearts of Iron 3 two times and it will not even start, it says something are missing or are not installed properly.

i have the same problem that after klicking START Game. it doesn't load the game :(

I can play for maybe 15-20 minutes and then it crashes. Waste of money.

I checked the Paradox fourums. It seems the solution to this problem is you need to register the game. I tried for an hour and I still couldnt figure out how to register this game.

It can be that some of you just didn't wait long enough for the first mao to build up. That can be a problem, I don't remeber if the STEAM version does need to build the map at first game start and that can take quite a while. Then after the building and starting in main menue first, quit the game and restart. That is needed for to fully initializing the game. (Was at least for the shop version)

WIN 10:
It works for me an others. But some people need to install some more drivers (C..) or older directX versions.

Technical Help:
You can find more help in the official Paradox Forum Tech support subsection for HoI3.
You can't see/access that subforum until you have registered your game THERE though.
So you need to have an account there which is connected to STEAM.
If you have problems creating the account there or regsiter your game. Ask the moderator or admins. Paradox-Forum is one of the nicer places of the internet. They will help you.

Have these problems with Windows 10 been sorted out yet, or are we still better off running HOI3 on older Windows 7 PC's especially when using Steam? I am lucky enough to have two PC's, a modern Win 10 and a very elderly and slow Win 7 Dell hand-cranked PC

try verify files within steam
