Save game not transfering

I'm trying to continue an online game with a friend as the host. The problem is my friend can join but the save wont transfer to him. Any ideas?

Using the same version? When you start the game check the code in the bottom left. It has to the same.

You need to be on the same patch, have the same expansions and be using the exact same mods.

@Hat21 You can't join if its not the same version.

Can you share your savegame with your friend over another way (upload it somewhere, Skype, ...)? Then he just needs to put it in Documents/Paradox/Vicky2/savegames.

Else it might be a problem with establishing a good connection. With what do you play it? Per DirectIP or per another Service like Hamachi/Evolve/Tunngle?

Also make sure that your friend only joins after you loaded the save into the lobby. Else it might not work.

Yes, we checked the versions and it was always the same on both ends. We are connecting via DirectIP. We've tried him joining before and after I load the save. Neither works. We're able to play if we both have the same save file though. He sent me a save he had and I loaded it and the transfer was successful. It's just annoying to have to e-mail saves everytime we want to continue.

Its annoying but as long it works.
Just use Skype or whatever, the whole deal takes not longer than 10 seconds really.
