Yup. You do.
...but I only own the Steam version, and I just downloaded your exe from the GOG version to fix mine. The only other way I could've obtained it otherwise is buying it. Little bit of a gray area, eh?
Nope. Just replace the exe = fixed skipped dialogue
I understant, we talk here about a very old game, and we talk here about a fix for steam users who really love this game and have problems with dialogue skipping. Let the gray area alone, this is very minimal gray area....and its the only fix. Also GOG version has included the a user-made patch into their game installation and now the game doesn't work on windows 8 at all, only steam version has the vanilla files.
Happy to hear if it works for you. I dunno what GOG did to the .exe version of the game but it works, i started to play this game and to finish it now, because when i had the game i was a child and i didn't know how to finish it and didn't know much english.
Steam could simply update their version with the GOG .exe file and quick time 4.0, not the latest quick time that they offer when you download this game, because only quick time 4.0 makes the cinematics to work in this old game.
I don't really consoder it a grey area at all. All the link provides is the exe, you still have to legally buy the game.
Two more things:
#1: CalinTM, YOU DA MAN.
#2: Yeah, why hasn't steam fixed this?
Then maybe... Kickstarter is in order?
Why yes... We could.
Yes sadly the company that made Septerra Core went under before any such project could be contemplated. And I doubt the guys that own the rights now are interested in actually doing such a project.
No one will do a septerra core 2, soo much time passed since 1999, and nothing. But if they will make it someday, will NOT be that great like Septerra Core 1, or if they will make it, will be banished simply because no one knows what was septerra core, only old guys will play it, so no demand in this area...
