From friendly to toxic in 2 years.

So much changed, people used to be much more friendly in the beginning of this game. But now all they say is ''noob'' or other random ♥♥♥♥ against you if they score. Or if you do something wrong accidently in a game they get mad on u like wtf? Everyone makes faults? xD

Couldn't agree more. It used to be really fun to play with randoms, but since all the sales and the big increase of the community size at least every 2nd match has a toxic person in it that ruins the game for everyone else.

People spamming "Wow!" after every little mistake, bossing around their teammates and making everyone p*ssed, and then of course without teamwork they lose and they can blame it on everyone else...

Seriously, when will the reports finally have consequences? Just ban every player for 10 minutes who got reported in multiple matches within a short time period. It can't be that hard to implement and it's very unlikely to hurt anyone who doesn't deserve it.

It comes down to the internet, not just the RL community. There will always be people like this, whom hide behind their anonimity,.

Spamming quick chat isn't a bannable offense however (not even worth reporting).

I advise to play with friends, or mute chat. Not ideal but that is how the internet works these days.

I use unranked to warm up if it is my first few games of the day. It is usually friendly but I still get the odd person flaming.

There was some other game I ran across yesterday (I forget the name) where they specifically decided NOT to use a full, type-in-your-sentence chat function. Instead they programmed a quickchat-style system limited to only a few basic phrases.

That was no accident. It was planned that way. I can see why they did that.

I can guarantee there would be more than a few people who get frustrated by the constant spam of quick messages. The chat system isn't the problem.

There are plenty of ways to ruin the game for everyone just using quick chat in a sarcastic way.

The problem is that people get away with being d*cks. And this is the developers' responsibility.

when i reached diamond the toxic behaviour of my teammates sky rocketed.
you do one mistake, be it missing one ball and the quickchat spam and later on the insults will follow.
tbh its psyonix fault. i remember league of legends having the same issue but since they introduced harsh punishments, the game had become much better.
people wont even write any toxic messages in chat which is crazy :D

This kind of person is a bit part of the problem.
He thinks it is mature, badass and cool to spam memes and some stupid phrases without considering his own stupidity and that makes him in the end a pathetic PoS.

That's less of a problem than people who have access to a full-chat system in which they can eloquently describe to you the ways in which they had sex with your mother, father, other siblings, grandparents, pets, or other persons you associate with; the ways in which they think you should commit suicide; the ways in which you're terrible at rocket league; and in which they can use a wide variety of racial slurs, which is a bit odd because there's no way for them to know what race another player belongs to, making racist epithets kind of pointless.

So yeah, gimme the quickchat-only instead of the full chat any day.
