• The match results screen now shows Revives if you play Team Deathmatch with the Team Revive variant enabled
  
• Fixed getting two kills if you detonate a trigger arrow on the same frame that the arrow itself kills someone

Hey everyone! Today I uploaded a quick little patch to address a few lingering issues after the Workshop Update.

• Added a new achievement! Speed of Light - Hyper jump across a level
  
• Fixed a crash when placing Mud on a bottom row of a level in the editor
  
• Modding in new archers or co-op towers by hand, rather than replacing the already-existing ones, should no longer crash the game

Today we're releasing a huge update for TowerFall that includes a brand new level editor and Steam Workshop support. The editor is a powerful tool that allows you to create and share your own personal Versus Towers! We're super excited to see what you create :) These updates are free, but require the Dark World Expansion to play.

Here's the full changes:

New Stuff:

• Added the Workshop! Create, share, and play your own custom Towers for Versus mode. Requires the Dark World Expansion.
  
• Use Steam Workshop to share and find custom Towers
  
• New stage element available for custom levels: Chalice platforms
  
• New variant added: Infinite Brambles
  
• Added new sound effects for:
  
  • Miracle Grabs: Catching an arrow and then immediately cancelling your dodge
    
  • Dodge Stall Grabs: Catching an arrow by holding the dodge button to extend your dodge time

Changes:

• Players now bounce when they drop orbs by touching them, regardless of where they collided with the orb
  
• Reduced the volume of proximity block sounds
  
• The keyboard config menu now accepts the “OemPipe” key
  
• Keyboard inputs now have numbered names on character select screen ("Keyboard 1", "Keyboard 2", etc)

This update is currently only available on Windows - but Mac and Linux support are coming very soon! I'll edit this post when they're available. This update was originally only available for Windows, but now Mac and Linux support have been added!

We just uploaded a new update for everyone on Steam, tying up loose ends after the release of the Dark World Expansion.

The biggest change, by popular demand, is that Trigger Arrows now have a dedicated detonate button. There's also a new keyboard configuration menu. It lets you rebind the keys from in-game, assign multiple players per-keyboard, and saves your settings in Steam Cloud!

Gameplay Changes:

• Alt shoot button (B on xb360 controllers) now detonates trigger arrows rather than primary shoot button
  
• Added a screen explaining how to detonate trigger arrows to Darkfang. It will only show once per play session, and you can disable it by disabling tips in the Options menu

• Added more Team Deathmatch levels to the existing Versus towers. Every tower now has 6 Team levels. Most are modified versions of free-for-all maps, but Sunken City got a brand new level which is also playable in other modes

Balance:

• Merged FFA and 1v1 Tournament Rules into one ruleset simply called Tournament Rules. This ruleset contains only No Autobalance and Symmetrical Treasure
  
• Slowed down the final “push” of the miasma as it closes in to encourage more kills before it consumes all the archers, and to make center-stage a more advantageous position
  
• Sudden Death variant now starts with miasma 1 second into the match instead of 5 seconds

• Jumping on a teammate’s head now shares arrows the same as bumping into them from the side

  • The chance of getting special arrows out of a treasure chest is now normalized. In most towers, there is a 60% chance each chest has a special arrow pickup, chosen from the possible types for that level
    
  • No more than one of each orb pickup can spawn per level now. If the Chaos Orb spawns, no other orbs will spawn
    
  • The amount of each upgrade powerup (Wings, Looking Glass, Speed Boots) that can spawn per round is now capped by the amount of archers
• Added a particle effect for hyper jumping to make it more readable
  
• Archers will now slip off ledges while ducking, if they’re on the ledge by 3 or less pixels. Slipping starts 4 frames after you start ducking
  
• You can now shoot the falling orbs in Twilight Spire to destroy them as they fall

• The ‘Level Complete’ screen now awards the crown to the player who performs better (based on kills, deaths, and combo). That player wears the crown in the next level

I'm experimenting with some new content for TowerFall, but I took a break to put together this quick update. It's mostly about tying up loose ends, on both the design and tech sides of the game :)

We've got one new variant: Regenerating Shields. It should help beef up the 3v1 juggernaut matches that seem to be popular lately. I'm excited to see what else it gets used for.

Balance changes include some tweaks to the Backfire levelset, and an important change to how Bottomless Treasure works that should improve 1v1 tournament play.

For stability I've improved the replay recording to help performance on weaker machines. See below for details!

Speed Boots - Run 40% faster! Works great with Encumbrance as well
Regenerating Arrows - If you're out of arrows, wait 1.5 seconds and you'll magically gain one
Anti-Gravity Arrows - Arrows never fall, and always seek
Small Quivers - Reduces your max arrow count to 3
Infinite Drills - Drill arrows will drill through every surface they hit, forever

New updates for TowerFall Ascension are live! This is mostly bugfixes and simple feature requests, with a few small balance changes. Thanks and keep the feedback coming!

Balance:

• Bumping into a teammate (in Team Deathmatch or co-op Quest) will now trade an arrow to even out your arrow counts, if possible
  
• Changed requirement for Massive Mythology achievement to 10,000 rounds (was 20,000)
  
• Changed time requirement for Time Lord achievement to 2:10 (was 2:00)
