*A BLACK SCREEN FIX*

For me when launching the game my screen would click and then go black and saying "OUT OF RANGE", but the game was still working fine in the background (could hear it).

Locate C:\Users\*YOUR NAME*\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers

Then open the SpaceEngineers.cfg file (you need to open it with notepad)

Look for this:

Key xsi:type="xsd:string">RefreshRate</Key>
<Value xsi:type="xsd:string">0</Value> "


Then change the >0< value to whatever refresh rate that normally works for you, and then save the file.

In my case changing it to >59< fixed it for me.

i hope this works, it basically kills my entire display and i have to manually restart my pc. it really is a shame there is such a fatal bug.

find fullscreen and change it from True to False, that should help.

Depending on problem, also installing on system drive may help.

Tries to open .cfg file. Can't find notepad. Tries free file viewer. Forgot it's VIEWER. Can't change refresh rate. ♥♥♥♥.

I cant find that in the config file at all SE used to work fine for me a while back and now suddenly the game just comes up a black screen when I launch it and causes my whole computer to freeze. I did find though that changing

<Key xsi:type="xsd:string">WindowMode</Key>
<Value xsi:type="xsd:string">2</Value>
to
<Key xsi:type="xsd:string">WindowMode</Key>
<Value xsi:type="xsd:string">1</Value>
causes a slow load, but the screen works fine then if I alt tab a few times

Lol, mine was "154000000" but that and the windowed mode didnt fixed it.
