Poor AA and AF - request to post images of your cp, ac, and nv inspector settings?
hi all,
I still have very poor AA and AF in Assetto Corsa. As if AA and AF are not working well or at all with my PC and AC using Nvidia Control Panel and AC in-game settings. I want to try the Nvidia Inspector and see if that helps. Can you please post images of your CP, in-game, and nv inspector settings? I prefer to see images - much easier to understand and copy and less typing for you. thanks so much!

Go to Racedepartment and get SweetFX.

OK, old screenshots but I too found the ingame AA to be lackluster. Simply adding 4 x Sparse Grid Super Sampling through nVidia Inspector can dramatically improve the visual fidelity but it comes at quite a heavy performance hit you may or may not be able to cope with depending on your rig and your desired framerate.

Another option would be to setup and use DSR. I have not tried this method with AC yet but I have recently been playing Race 07 at 4K downsampled to 1080 and it makes a world of difference.

download this
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/natural-graphics-mod.4551/
Unzip and run the exe. Activate sweetfx and natural graphics

I like to run this filter wth the above mod it makes it look a little bit more realistic. Nords is a dream to drive with this filter.

edit: sorry wrong link posted but now fixed.

Heh, sadly no. I haven't updated AC since 1.2, haha. I can't be bothered playing it when they are constantly changing core physics simulation. Not complaining about it, I appreciate the work and I still buy the DLC but I'm just waiting for updates to slow considerably before I play it, don't mind waiting when I have many titles to enjoy.

As for how things are set, the main ones to look for is have in game AA set to 4x, then in nVidia Inspector find Transparency Supersampling and choose 4x Sparse Grid.

I don't think this is how I set mine up but I found this screenshot for nVidia Inspector on the web...

I'm fairly sure I "enhanced the games settings" and only applied the transparency supersampling with 4 x SGSSAA.

That is a great find! Thanks so much! the settings in that image for nvidia inspector really did the trick and much better/smoother lines with no jaggies. I still see some of the the "sparkles" people mention so I will explore more of the AC sites to check for other settings.

Thanks again!!!

This looks promising, too. I will try to see if I can make the directions work since I am a spaz with software directions! haha

So you don't play the game any more, nor v1.2, nor update it to last version, so don't know how it feels. Then why is the reason you remain on 1.2 and not update it if you don't even play the 1.2 version you stored? Unless you use steam offline, but that can't be since you're not playing 1.2 either. Threfore no reason to not update the game. Also unless you uninstalled, so you don't have 1.2 either.

No, I'm not playing AC currently. It's still installed because then when I do feel I want to play it, I don't have to install the whole thing. I always stop anything on my PC from auto updating because I can't stand it when I want to do something quickly and it's downloading and installing updates. I like to be in control of when this happens so I can maintain my PC as it goes. I don't leave it on 24 / 7. It's on when I'm using it and off when I'm not.

No, I don't know how the game feels right now but is that a problem? I like AC, I'm not saying it's bad but I don't wish to invest time getting used to how it feels when it's constantly changing with every update. Same goes for other games. I buy early access titles but very few of them see serious playtime because I prefer to wait until the product is complete. I may update from time to time to check things out but again, I don't like spending time learning something that will ultimately change.

None of this stops me from being able to help someone improve the visual quality of the game though ;)

Thanks for the reply, yes I understand your point now. You prefer to play it when is more static-stable and you know it will stay that way. To then invest more time in it without having to relearn in short periods of time new details or techniques.
