Sun Temple: How do you kill the eel-thing that hates you?

I canno figure out how I'm supposed to fight this dude besides letting Li do all the shooting while I stay in Beast form to outswim his stupid currents. (Like getting up to that boss wasn't a headache already, stupid thorns >_>)

I'm basically looking for a solution besides "lol lots of soup for shooting ammo in beast form" because farming items sounds like a great way to kill my enjoyment.

You can use the Numbers on keyboard as the shortcuts to diffrent forms. Juggle between Beast and Energy form. When he doesn't attack, change fast to Energy form, boost up your beams and spam away. If he begin a next attack - change yoursefl back to Beast Form. Rinse and repeat.

I've killed him with 95969874984987498497 hot soups. Just that.

Also, you can "grab" into a wall, so when he star to suck the water, it won't affect you (sorry the grammar errors, my english is not very good).
