u know i said the exact same thing about the community maps idea, but the devs dont seem to see eye to eye with me and you on that idea, idk why not as thats only a win-win if added, would take some work though, but i think we would see positive results
Tracers for the MG's? Like in in every 5 rounds?
Zoomable minimap with a grid on it, that the NCO can ping and combine with commands from the radial menu (see above)?
Flare gun for the NCO for night combat, to illuminate enemy positions or to give attack/ withdraw signals?
Public team speak server, exclusively for Verdun players and dedicated channels for registered squads?
Maybe a training room where new players could learn basics such as aiming and shooting, throwing grenades, using the gas mask, close combat with bayonet and/ or club/ shovel, use of MG's/ sniper scopes and possibly even a NCO training School where one can learn how to use squad commands, plot arty and gas fire etc. A 'Field Depot/ Ersatzbataillon".
New maps are definitely welcomed, players have talked about something like an open map like the Marne, or a town map, which is possible, my brother and I went to the battlegrounds and found a town or two that were fought over, and perhaps a fort-like map. There are a couple forts on the site of Verdun itself including Fort Douaumont or Fort Vaux. A map I'd love for sure is a Lorraine map or of course an actual Verdun map in honour of Maginot who fought there.
I'm not a fan of adding a ton of new weapons to the game because it's often unnecessary and after their novelty wears off, people will go back to the old guns anyway ie: berthier, mousqueton, G98. One thing I would like though is a 5 shot berthier or mousqueton as long as the only change to the guns that are made is the amount of shots it has.
New squads will be great, as long as they are well-constructed and each role is complimentary to the other to encourage teamwork.
Changing the bolting of rifles is not a good idea, there are other ways of fixing rifle balancing.
What I would like to see is what I've been campaigning all over the forums recently is incentives for teamwork within squads. If that becomes part of the meta game again, it will put the game over the top.
Lorraine will likely be the last Western Front map to be made since it was by far the quietest of all sectors.
