And when exactly did this problem appear? After latest update or sometime later?
Do you have drivers updated (not having drivers can lead even low-demanding game not run on high-end pc)? How long have you had your CPU overclocked? Overclocking CPU shortens the lifespan (both effective and overall) considerably, though its still quite rare for CPU to fry compared to other parts. This is in your case, however, quite nice probability on what i can find on Intel i7 Quad 5820K, as you seem to have overclocked it quite severely. Still might not be that.
How much space you have left in your hard drive out of total capacity? Keep in mind that its useful to leave aprox. 10 percent of hard drive free, i.e in case of 500GB hard drive, 50 GB left free, 1TB hard drive, 100GB free, etc.
