It Just is not WW1 like.

We do have the game mode "Rifle Deathmatch" which is exactly that, indeed that is not realistic in that it recreates a battle as it was and indeed is like playing moh:aa/cod2/bf3 "rifle only" servers of days past.

The frontlines mode is however trying to recreate trench warfare with an attack-counter attack mechanism where you attack a trench line, fend-off an enemy counter attack and then advance to the next line. Also the game is filled with historical units, 100% recreated ww1 weapons and locations set on the whole of the western front (as can be seen on the interactive map of the western front).

If you refer to the fact that it does not breath enough the grim atmosphere of battles such as passchendaele, we are working on adding that scenario.

Well if i remeber right in WW1, you and your squad would go over the top and run like **** to the other trench, and try to kill all the enimies in that trench. And try to stay there and secure the trench

I do too i think there should be a thing where you die and wait till everyone else dies then all run over the trenches at once again and so on...and there should be more people ....Call of Duty 2 is the best...

people actually spawn in waves of attackers at once indeed. Also they get a certain time to take the enemy trench, if they fail the enemy gets to counter-attack, if they succeed they have to wait till the enemy attacks.

and one guy playing around in the back lines stops your team spawning for the rest of the game.

thats what you do, apart from RDM but thats a death match, which is a universal FPS game style.

The game is good dont compare it to call of duty. Call of duty is nowhere near where the levels of verdun is at

One problem in this is scale. Where the ww1 smallest unit of manover was for the brits 120 men a good part in to the war, evolving to 10 man units of manover.
While ww2 (or ww cod) features units as small as 2 or 4.
ww1 night sorties and raids is propably the scale where the game is now (culd be intresting flag capture game mode).
This will propably be somewhat helped when the game supports more squads per side, alltough i wuld prefer larger squads (and more rifles).

120? where's you get that as the smallest? The armies used Platoons and Sections/Squads, Platoon is 30+men and a Section/Squad was around 10. Germany also began to use the fireteam set up as well to try and break the stalemate which was 4 men working closely together.

RDM clearly feels like COD. Yep, it's like playing a good old call of duty.

RDM is the coolest aspect of the game in my opine...in fact I'ts all I play.

It's called Verdun. Quit comparing apples to oranges.

Also, not sure if it's worth mentioning, but it's not like the OP has actually played Verdun. It appears he has yet to purchase it. I can give Verdun my hearty recommendation, though, and say to the OP that his particular concern that it might be "To much like call of [doody]" and "Just not WWI like" is fortunately not the case. I can understand if people worry about whether or not a product actually IS what it's marketed to be (...yay capitalism...yeesh, we LIVE in this world). In the case of Verdun, IMHO it's totally worth it, wonderfully (and rewardingly) simulates the WWI dynamic, and is most certainly not just another CoD clone. This will become apparent soon after you start playing. Give it a shot! ...pun intended :P

Did you ever see WW1?

They would all go together as a group not like four at a time. and yes i will buy the game sometime, becuse its looks good.
I played it with a friend at his home and i liked it but it was just nit the WW1 feel.
There are not enough people in the "squads" to make the MG08's useful.
