Would think there would've been an announcement or mention of it in the Changelog about it. If it is official and not a test or bug.

This is not official. Just a request to enable it in public matches from a few players to test/enjoy.
It also says in the homepage you have a new MAP ??? Am i reading that right at my 9 frames per second lol? Shame you need a NASA computer to play this game.

Edit, never mind, new mini map, not a map.

Yes, I noticed they appeared on the EU servers and requested it for the US. Thanks Matt for the chance! Hopefully when the US server picks up in the next few hours it should start to fill. Fun times
Matt, thank you. I believe this is the second public test of the 64 template and it appears to be showing interest in member numbers hours after you began the games.
Having played and hosted many 64 private matches, I think that the larger template is a success as far as it does not create noticeable lag for most people. There are issues with with large matches, most normally the fact of up to 16 ncos calling in artillery, but that can be moderated by various means.
64 players work with Verdun.

Might want to link to your group here for those interested in future regular tests ;)
just tried 64 player server, disconnected after 30 seconds... the performance is horrible like in old times, bye bye verdun again xd
Yeah, it's definitely not worth playing on these yet. For one, you can't even reliably join a 64 player game, since you can only see the top four squads on each team. If those are all full, you're left with the Join a random squad button, but if there are other games on that map, you could be out of luck.

I joined a 64 player game earlier. About every 15 seconds I would teleport back to a spawn point for no reason that I could tell, and I constantly got spammed with trade requests, even after locking my position.
I would also suggest doubling the cooldowns on NCO abilities for 64 players, because it's a nightmare of mortar strikes.
So was this like the last one? One game that hangs out till it dies? Or is this something we now have access to test outside private matches?

Only devs can create public 64 player matches
I had 50 fps all the time, no lag, and it was AWESOME. Can't wait for another one.
I really enjoyed the 64 vs 64. No lag, no drop of FPS, in my case it run smothly. The best thing about 64 vs 64 is that it is bloody and a good exercise in futility, a real IWW experience :D

I wouldn't go around saying it's a real ww1 experience because it's isn't rather a more immersive feel of the war
