Get a cheap Bluetooth mouse (the game doesn't need a keyboard) and a hardback book to rest it on, which you can then pass back and forth between your friends.
Or try one of these apps which claim to enable the controller to simulate mouse/keyboard (I can only vouch for ControllerMate being able to do what it says, but I'm sure there must be several on the PC that do the same thing)

The guy who's been working on the controller has been full time on the new MP lobby system and coop feature.
So far the editor is still planned to come after coop
Thanks for the update :-)
I understand that you need to have revenue streams and fix MP issues.
I really shouldn't need to buy new hardware to support a feature that is still coming.
But the other idea seems more reasonable.
