Random frame rate drops and fps cap.
My gtx 1080ti turned up today so i decided to test how well it runs on ac4 considering its one of my favourite games but i keep getting random fps drops when running about in havana. I have all settings maxed at 1080p and a 1080ti should easily be able to max this game at 60. I have messed around with the settings a bit but even turning AA down to SMAA still has these drops. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I have already tried turning down shadows too and it didn't help. Also can you removed the 60 fps cap?

Hi there, I bought the gtx 1080 a few months. I also tried AC4, but i get some drops aswell, you have no choice. You will have some drops. I also tried AC Rogue which uses ac4 motor, and I get constant 60 fps. Unity 60 fps aswell. By deduction, ac4 is the problem. Already contact uShit, and they saied that if the big drops are not under 30fps, it's not a big drop, so they can nothing. Thanks uShit for ur help.

Ok thanks. Its a shame that its the game as i was expecting to easily have a solid 60fps when unity and syndicate are running at 90 and 110 fps on max. Maybe if i just turn down a few taxing settings I can smooth it out.

Hey, I bought this game not too long ago, and also it's one of my fav games, It's nice to see that this game can actually run on high settings on my pc (gtx 960 windforce x3 4Gb) tho I do get quite a lot of lag spikes just in the very first map and I don't know because it's always 61 fps but just lots of lag spikes..

Okei I googled the problem around and tried it out, so the biggest cause was physx, if you set it on low then there is no more lag spike at all, and the game is running beautifly... So hope that helps a bit..

Confirmed on a GTX 1060 6Gb. Setting PhysX to Low smoothes out the framerate, Thanks, Saulius Mangruda

Hi everyone.
I have found a solution if you have a screen is able to support 30hz mode.

I have found that this game is as good in 30hz as in 60hz.

So you put 30hz in Windows and then turn the vsync to yes. So the game is able to run in ultra (without drops).
