Hedgehog's Curse

Does this curse actually make you drop your own coins? Or does it spawn coins when you get hit? It scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me when I first got hit while holding it, so I didn't check to see if I lost anything. Also I got hit on spikes.

The edgehogh curse will let you gain more gold than losing it. It's mean you can scrifice life for gold.

In my experience you drop exactly how much you lost. If you pick it all up you have exactly the same amount as before you got hit. So the dropped coins are drawing from your total, but they are recoverable, unless they fall off screen or something.
I did look at my total before taking a hit with the curse. It went down when I was hit. After recovering all my dropped coins I had the original total. No screenshots or anything but you could take my word for it.

This post is pretty vague. I'm pretty sure he's saying that when you get hit you drop your own gold, which comes out as 10gp pieces. If you are a miner or spelunker you can collect them for more than 10gp a piece thus collecting more gold than you dropped.

I got hit a few times on the slime boss with Hedgehog's Curse active, and the combination of coins everywhere on the screen + lots of slimes actually managed to make the game crash. So lame

I feel like the Hedgehog Curse should allow for you to not be damaged as long as you have coins.
