Vault at Mysterious Shrine...
Just southeast of Sante Fe Springs I found a Mysterious Shrine with a vault door - it is 0% impossible even though I have a 10 in safecracking...thanks in advance.

The front vault door has a computer off to the side that needs "computers."
I've been in the vault, clear homage to another title. Got stopped by a door that required Lockpicking though.

I think every shrine has some sort of perception secret to be spotted

Looks like I'll eventually have to head back to the Shrines once I get my perception up abit higher lol

Whats up with the Calis journal entry? Is that referencing some sort of real life situation that existed with the devs in some way? Like certain people wanted to make fallout 3 into what it became and another portion wanted it to be like the classic isometric games and so they argued and split over it?

Seems way too specific to not be based on some sort of reality.

That hidden area is related to some RL internet events; exaggerated of course.

Hmmmm ... yeah, found the way in (using computer code to unlock the hatch). Then waltzed amongst a lot of bodies, looted a choice item or two, scrutinized everything there appeared to be to scrutinize ... looted items out from under gun turrets ... tried blasting the debris out from under the clogged elevator shaft w/o any success ... tried shooting the two swinging bodies hanging above the elevator shaft w/o any success ... inspected all the valves along the wall for one that might be operatable w/o any luck ... same with the computer equipment, etc. etc. etc. Couldn't find any way down to the lower level (though I could distinctly hear something trapsing around down there, no changing of angles to see through the floor allowed me a glimpse of anything moving down below (else I probably would've at least tried shooting it !) So maybe the perception's just not high enough to notice an obvious way down that I'm missing atm? Or there is just a lower level down there simply to drive ya nutz? ;)

It's all based on RPGcodex, a website where people complain endlessly about games. The posters at RPGcodex donated enough money to the kickstarter to have a "shrine" put in the game based on their submission.

The troll statue at the entrance is their mascot. The named dead people are the site's owners/moderators. The computer on the 2nd bunker level is mostly a huge inside joke. (you can reach it by unlocking the maintenance hatch in one of the corners of level 1). You can't reach the 3rd level.

Thanks for the tips :)

Where is the door on the inside? I don't have it.

Oh this is a reference to some other third party website? Fair enough I guess, I just know I got some awesome trinket from one of the bodies that gives like +5 Initiative - and 1000+ xp just for using the mostly broken computer on the second level from the required perception/lockpick check on the hidden trapdoor.

I hadn't realised the other shrines had perception secrets too... hmm.
