Duke Nukem

No Linux version?
I just looked at the store page and there's no Linux requirements listed.

The game runs in DOSBox and there's definitely a Linux version of DOSBox available, so why isn't it available on Linux?

People, this is exactly type of game, linux-users play in their nerd-bunkers. Please, port it:ingyang:

No need for a port. The game runs in a DOS emulator, so all that's needed to run it on another OS is just a DOS emulator for that OS, which is already available. It's something the devs could literally do in an hour. No, I'm not exaggerating.
Agreed, I hope to see this enabled at some point. Other games have done this, hopefully we can see 2D Duke as well.

If they made it available for Linux tonight, I'd buy it tomorrow. They're losing money. Granted, not a lot, but it's still money. I have Duke 3D I'd love to play the first two Duke games because I've never played them and I love retro gaming, but on principle alone I refuse to buy a game only to download it in Windows and copy the files over to Xubuntu to run it manually using DosBox. (I'm trying to rid myself of Windows, not buy more software for it)

This is on my "wish" list, waiting for the developers to do a port to Linux-based operating system... The moment it's available, is the moment I will purchase it.

No Tux, no bux.

We're currently working on the Linux version and it should be available soon!

And you are?

Normally developers have some sort of visual indication that they are in fact the developer (it says "developer" or something like that near their username)... Which you do not have.

Any news is good news - but it makes it hard to trust as anything more than a rumor if your account has not been confirmed as the developer's account...

Currently having an issue with that... it's quite... annoying :P but if you go to www.3drealms.com/team - I'm the Marketing Director. You can see my handles are "omglazerkittens" everywhere :)

But yes, Linux will be done soon!

So... what about the port? It's been quite a while since you posted that. I mean... it is a DOS port, it can't take more than a few days to make a fully functional Linux port. Are you going to release it?

Well it was supposed to be available as part of that 3D Realms mega-box bundle thing... But it's nearly the end of the year and they seem to have forgoten about that, too.
