Casual Mode

I love this game, but I hate the time limit in story mode and endurance mode's point system. I'd like a mode where I can play at my own pace, without a timer ticking down on my head or losing the game in the first minute due to a small hard-to-find error somewhere. I propose a "Casual Mode" in endless, that has neither of these features. This idea probably won't be popular, but I'd enjoy it greatly.

EDIT: Another idea is to allow players to choose which rules they want to be in effect.

For the Story Mode, I really don't like the timer, so why not have a casual mode where you process a fixed number of immigrants instead of having to rush? The time limit is often what causes me to make mistakes because I'm in a hurry to process as many people as possible.

You can turn on easy mode, this will give you a bonus on your daily salary. It wont stop or slow down timer, but might take away some pressure.

I love the timer in story mode.
But I would totally be behind a mode where the timer is either a lot slower, or non-existant.
Just not story mode.

Maybe something to think about for a sequel or... whatever is next.

I'm legally blind, so I end up taking longer to analyze people's papers because I don't want to miss anything. Even with Easy Mode enabled, I only manage to break even.

There is an endless casual in the game. You simply need to unlock Endless mode, then choose Endurance, and voila! Endless Papers, Please!

Endurance mode does have an end. As soon as your score goes into the negative, you lose. I honestly think Endless mode should be renamed "Challenge Mode," since all three gameplay variants have an end to them.

Must admit i dont like being rushed , i tried easy but i think worrying about money is a big part of the game.

I'd like a mode were you have say twice as much time per day but you were payed a set wage. Even if the wage was low , i dont like the idea of the fastr i work the more money i get. Thats not in keeping with the spirit of the game either.

I know this is late getting to you, but try playing it in windowed mode and finding the hotkey for "take screenshot" of your display. Have a word document open and just minimize the screen to pause it, then paste your screenshot of the documents into a word document. You get a lot more done and it's a lot less stressful.

If only all of my support requests only took five years to solve, I'd have a lot fewer problems! :L

I appreciate the suggestion, though. If I ever play Papers, Please again, I might have to try it out.

+1. The time pressure was the single thing that made me put down the game some years ago. It contributes really well to the oppressive atmosphere, but I'd rather just experience the story without the stress.
