Too many updates
I like this game but there are way too many updates and more than half of them are unnecessary. Some updates are only for certain mods and packs that not most people use. This is taking up most of my disk and i will soon run out of space as when the updates have come my disk for some reason automatically reserves extra space then needed. POE people could you please lower the ammount of updates. Thanks i like the game

Now people complain about a developer that update their games, next will be what? Complaining that the game receive more content?

Seriously, they earn money with the game and we get good support and frequently updates, most games out there don't even bother with this and now you are crying because of disk space? Upgrade your disk or buy a new one for game use, i had 1 SSD of 120GB on my laptop and barely had space, i bougth another SSD of the same size and now i install all what i play and still have space.

Really we can more skills, Items, gameplay and such stuff for free and you complain about diskspace?

How old are you? o.O

You can always move the steam library by itself to a bigger disk. PoE is one of the lowest disk size games I have... GTA V is over 64 GB.

I vary rarely get annoyed with updates, but PoE is one of the few that I do. Whenever they release a tiny patch fix it takes like 5-10min or longer to install it because of how their files are setup, making the disk use near 100% until it gets done, and this happens every few days.

I love how they are constantly fixing patches and adding new stuff, but if updates are going to be very small, why not just do it weekly-biweekly instead of every day?

again, I am more complaining about how their file system is setup and how long it takes to apply patches, rather than the amount of patches we are getting.

This is what i mean by the patches, taking so long and having so much reserve space on my computer

I know yes, you are correct, but is there any other way sorry but i use the school laptop and i have 2 hard drives on it one 77.4 GB and one 41.6 GB, is there any other way i could clean up the path of exile files or allow it to only patch things that are actually vital not certain mods because it puts half of my hard drive as reserve space even when the full download only takes a small amount of space

patches are fine...they fix bugs in most cases and ocasionaly add assets for MTX's, it's only a problem for steam users because steam takes an age to update and makes a meal of it, standalone is done patching within a few minutes

Installing PoE on SSD disk makes wonders..
TheDoctor Dec 11, 2015 @ 3:53pm
that was the reason for me stop to play it. Every time that my pc "frozen" i knew that a new POE update was being installed. I remember one time when i was hosting a game and this ♥♥♥♥ just frozen the entire pc because POE needs to use the entire disk to install 500kb. Jesus!

Are you honesly complaining about getting tons of content on a free game?? I don't even...

Then disable updating while you're running games. In fact, it's the default Steam setting, I believe.

Anyway, the reason for this is that they actually want to use the space efficiently, so every time you download updates, the files are repacked overwriting old content. At least it looks like this. This is why this game is still only 6GB. Although giving people a choice would be nice I guess (why not let people download patchXXX.ggpk and - if they want - allow them to integrate those patchXXX files into content.ggpk using, for example, PackCheck.exe's switch).
