Tornado shot initial projectile and drillneck

Couldn't really find any answers for this question on google, most reddit or poe posts were in regards to pre 3.0 drillneck. Does the innitial tornado shot arrow (the one that pierces all targets) benefit from the drillneck 50% extra damage on pierced targets?

Of course, they are pierced by the projectile after all.

I just had to wonder because the initial shots just did really low damage, whereas the secondary arrows instakilled even rares.

I know I'm asking relatively simple questions, but poe is so complex I can't even be sure all the time.

You probably use some multiple projectiles to get more than one a few secondary projectiles. Only one of the primary arrows of each attack can hit the enemy, but the secondary arrows ignore this shotgunning limitation, so you may hit them with like 5 of those arrows.

Ya I'm running +1 arrow drillneck and dying sun, lotsa arrows. Still not a fan of tornado shot though, by the time those secondary arrows kill the pack (and likely leave over a few mobs if you're not using chain) lightning arrow or ice arrow would've cleaned them up already. but probably would've left the rare. I'm working on chancing a headhunter but I keep having to spend my exalted on other crap because I like expensive builds lol.
