Steam Requirements/Upgrade licensing
I'm looking at the sale for the commercial version and was wondering if running Steam is still required, or if we are able to get the installer from the site and license it as a standalone. I found this post and wasn't sure if it was still the case. http://steamcommunity.com/app/238710/discussions/0/864973123762612828/. Sometimes while working with multiple programs open, I like to close everything not needed, which includes Steam. If this isn't currently possible, are there any plans to do so, or is this something locked down?

Also, if I were to get the Non-Commercial version now, make some assets for Personal use and decided to upgrade to the full commercial license at a later time, would the assets created under the Non-Commercial have to be recreated (such as with Autodesk's Student Edition)?

@Cohemus: after purchasing your license on Steam, please send us an email on our contact form and we'll be able to provide you with a standalone license as well if need be.

And if you create asset with the non commercial license you won't have to recreate them with you upgrade to the commercial license.
