White Screen on boot? Nvidia graphics card? PLEASE READ
Recently some of you awesome folks have been experiencing a much less than awesome issue when you boot BattleBlock Theater. All you see is a white screen. This is (so far) isolated to Nvidia users.

This is certifiably Not Fun.

So, If you are one of these unfortunate souls and would like to begin enjoying a life of battle and blocks and theater, please follow these steps very carefully:

First
Please update your Nvidia graphics drivers to the latest release and restart your computer.
If your PC uses the Nvidia GeForce Experience you can update your driver there. Otherwise you can always download it from their site!

Now this may solve your problem immediately! Hurray! if not, please read on!

Second
You will temporarily disable your Nvidia graphics card so please follow these steps carefully!
  1. Open Device Manager. You can quickly find this by typing "Device Manager" in your Windows search bar.

  2. Expand "Display Adapters"

  3. Select your integrated display adapter and make sure it is set to "Enabled" (It will be whichever one is not your Nvidia Card and will probably say something like "Intel HD graphics". If you do not have an integrated graphics display adapter, stop right here and let us know so we can try something else.)

  4. Select your Nvidia display adapter and set it to "Disabled". Say yes to the warning that pops up. (Don't worry we will be turning it back on in a few steps!)

  5. Now start BattleBlock Theater.

  6. From Help & Options > Video Options set your Window Mode to Fullscreen and your Screen Resolution to whatever your monitor supports.

  7. Quit the game.

  8. Go back into Device Manager.

  9. First re-enable your Nvidia display adapter. (Its the one you disabled in step 4!)

  10. Then disable your Integrated display adapter.

  11. Start BBT again!

If you're still having issues after that, or if you are not an Nvidia user but you are experiencing this white screen on boot, please open a support ticket on our site!

If I disable the other adapter is it gonna affect me on other games somehow?

I've just did this method, it works perfectly fine...
But something is missing on your step by step explanation... THAT YOU NEED TO REACTIVATE THE MAIN DISPLAY ADAPTER.
If you don't do that your NVIDIA Graphic Card won't work correctly and you'll be getting more issues with other games..

I aprreciate your support developers; I do recomend buying the dual pack now :) (BBT and CC)

Disabling the Nvidia adapter is only temporary so that you can run BBT to change the window mode and resolution. After you are done doing that you will enable it again. As long as you re-enable it after you're done, it will not effect other games!

Follow the steps above and you'll be good!

you will have to re-enable the graphics card to use it with the other games, if you don't then they will not run very well.

BETTER FIX!

If you want to play in windowed mode (or don't want to mess about in the device manager, which if you get something wrong in, could errm, ruin your day...) and don't mind using the intergrated graphics all the time, there is an alternative, easy fix~:

  1. Start the NVIDIA Control Panel - you can search for it in the start menu, hit start and then immidiately type "NVIDIA Control Panel" and click on the icon.
  2. Click "Add".
  3. Click "BattleBlockTheatre.exe".
  4. Below it there should be a drop down menu with "Use global sttings" selected. Change this to "Intergrated Graphics"
  5. Click "Apply" at the bottom right of the screen.
  6. Start the game.
  7. You're done! :-)

This method forces the game to use the integrated graphics of your cpu. Which makes you think that the game might not run as well but I've tested it with intel 530 graphics and it runs at a solid 60 all the time.

However, if you would prefer to use the descrete graphics of your system (i.e. if the intergrated graphics had a problem) then if you press ESC and from within the settings menu, change the display mode to fullscreen and the setting the the NVIDIA Control Panel back to your nvidia processor, then it will work fine.

Have fun playing your new game!

While this is another method to fix the issue, we discovered that the option to choose your graphics card using the Nvidia Control Panel is not always available for all cards. We are presenting the method that is available to everyone.

But if you do have the option to select the preferred graphics card using the Nvidia Control Panel, you can use that method.

I followed this method. And BBT ran well while Nvidia display adapter disabled. But while I re-enable it, BBT went back to white screen again. I did change Window Mode to Fullscreen. Need help! :steamsad:
