Best game in a while, no need to play other Deus Ex title to understand, it's a standalone story.

I want to enjoy this game, because I recognize that it is very good, but often when I try to play I get bored too easily....

To answer that question, it really depends on the kind of games you like to play. If you like to be immersed in the environment, and explore every nook and cranny, this would be a good game for you. It also allows for a more direct approach, but you lose some of the advantages that doing side missions or exploring the map gives you (ammo caches, xp, etc.). It it more story-heavy than most games of its type, and favours a more stealthy gameplay (more rewards).

One of the all time best, just about the time you think the game is ending youre like "WTH?!?!" and then you start to realize just how deep this rabbit hole goes... or do you...

Outstanding game , great immersion, diverse gameplay, thought provoking story and a magnificent original sound track. Highly recommended.
