Character stats
It's a bit awkward to create a character when you don't know what you actually get from your character stats.

Facts (not all tested)

Diplomacy:
- the bonus from scholars is used in most diplomacy skill checks

Healing:
- each point decreases the cost of treating followers by a flat amount (presumably by 1)
- doctor followers contribute to the cost reduction
- increases the number of herbs received when gathering them
- example: with 5 healing and no doctors, an illness cost 7-8, poison was 11-12 (more info might be needed)

Leadership:
- starting and maximum follower morale (which affects the follower's critical chance)
- sergeant and lieutenant bonuses will raise the maximum morale a follower can reach
- veteran units give 0 points of leadership (tooltip issue)
- lieutenant units give 4 point of leadership (tooltip issue)

Scouting:
- each point adds 1 movement
- base movement is 20
- each scout follower adds 2 movement (as expected)

Survival:
- on a successful hunting roll, you get meat equal to half your survival score plus the number of people sent to hunt
- on a failed hunting roll, you get meat equal to the number of people sent to hunt
- on a critical success roll, you get meat equal to your full survival score plus the number of people sent to hunt
- to determine if hunting is successful the game rolls 1-100, success is when the returned number is within the success chance
- if the returned number is less than 20% of the success chance, you get a critical roll
- hunters add to the characters survival score
- other classes sent to hunt count as 'people sent to hunt'
- example: 10 survival, 5 hunters, 5 people (any class) sent to hunt will net 15 meat on success, 25 meat on critical success, 5 meat on failure

Tactics:
- base item placement radius is 1
- base item stacking is 1
- every two points add 1 to the placement radius and item stacks
- soldiers do not contribute to these two points

In a recent thread, someone posted some patch notes which said Hunting yielded meat equal to half your Survival score rounded up, plus one meat per character sent to hunt.

Not sure about the rest, I haven't really studied the manual or the patch notes.

- Follower morale can never go above your total Leadership (including officer bonuses).
- Officer bonuses are not directly applied to individual unit morale, it only determines the ceiling. Only the unit's individual morale affects crit chance.
- Veterans no longer add to your Leadership, I believe that was patched out for balance reasons.
- Sergeants add 3, a Lieutenant adds 4. Did we forget to update a tooltip?

- No, as I recall, every second point of Tactics gives you 1 extra radius, every other point raises your item stack limit.

Yes, the button for the Veteran promotion says still + 1 Leadership in English and German.
Sergeants button is correct +3, but Lieutenant says still +5.

Well, I got more than I expected, thank you.
Time to make a character and finally finish la Hispaniola.

I have updated the first post with your answers.

Here are a few other questions:
- doing the first few quests I have seen Isabella's morale go to 11, do some events take it over the cap (like quick sand) ?
- for tactics, does it mean that for best results you should take even ranks like 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 ?

Oh yeah I think certain events can take the morale over the cap.

The Tactics skill has effects on all rank levels. You either get a wider radius for item placement, or you get bigger stack sizes.

For tactics it depends on what you get on even ranks vs. odd ones.

Jonas said every second point, so I think this means even.

I have now more base stats in diplomacy and survival,
but don' know how I got them?

In brackets my start values:
Tactic 5 (5)
Diplomacy 9 (8)
Healing 5 (5)
Survival 9 (8)
Scouting 5 (5)
Leadership 7 (7)

Any ideas?

So, what skill build should be the best one for adventure and diplomacy oriented group?
10 Diplomacy? Does it makes sence to take to scolars?
Heal and scoutiing as skills are useless.
Taktics, I dont know actually.
With survival I had a straange exoeierence in th game: started with basic and 2 hunters and had more than enough meet. Afterwords I tried to take 3 hunters and increase the survival up to 8, used often the coast spot for the night camp, and had often troubles with my food supply. Random?

For my opinion, most usefull skills shoul be diplomacy, taktics and leadership.They gives us the matter priorities which are not so depending on the random faktor.
