I don't have an explanation why though :(
When you add custom sounds and play a YT song, the sound effects are silent.
But custom sounds *really* behave funky with local files. The only custom sound that works normally is matchsmall. Matchmedium, large, and huge somehow use the matchsmall sound. Hitgrey does nothing, it keeps the default sound. And hit was really weird, it did play my custom sound, but at a higher pitch...and each time I hit a block, the pitch became progressively higher.
One thing to note about the "hit" sound, it rises in pitch as your grid fills, and resets when your grid is cleared (roughly, the sound effect is reset to base after the points finish being added so there's a slight delay).
