My friend says he uses too 24bits, but in 48k hz.
Before I re-installed Windows 7, the cut scenes had sound. But now with the clean install, no such luck. I couldn't figure out why. I had the latest Audio and Video drivers, but still didn't work.
I tried manually installing Visual C++. but again nothing happened.
So why did it work before? Then I remembered that when I install and start a new game in Steam, they install stuff before you can start. Usually in 3 steps: installing Direct X, installing a runtime and another install (will install a new game and look at what it exactly says).
And now I have sound in the cut scenes again!
Hope some of you will find out which of the installs it specific is. I will too.

How do you force a game to do the new installation type steps? I recently went on a bit of a binge downloading and filling up my drive and literally every one of my steam games is either downloaded or queued.. do I just need to first time play one of the games I've downloaded but not yet booted?
