How Is The Optimization?
Haven't bought the game, but based on the stupidly insane recommended spec of a i7 3770 CPU, I'm curious how this game runs on an average machine and high end.

It runs rediculously well in the average machine. I'm playing it from my laptop for goodness sakes. The specs they suggest are compeletly overblown.

I'd qualify in the high end range (i7 4770 @ 4.5ghz and gtx 780) but the game is, naturally, insanely smooth on that setup. It seems as though many people with lower end machines aren't having too many issues. Well, except for the laptop users but that's expected since naming conventions for laptop GPU's is borderline criminal.

It runs at a full 60FPS at max settings on my budget card.

That's good to hear. I suppose once this DRM (?) bug thing that's happening to people goes away, it'll be smooth sailing. I think that the Minimum and Recommended specs of this game may be the most inaccurate for a PC game release to date. Lol

The optimization is absolutely fantastic and far above what I expected from a company that's never ported to PC before. There are a few problems with certain monitors with certain resolutions, but otherwise this is top-notch.

I'm using an OC'ed 660 Ti & a i7 3770k so I'd imagine I could tear this game up.
Playing it maxed out on my laptop avg 45fps, dips as low as 35fps (No lower though).

Maxed out w/ 8xmsaa

Better then expected. I got by no means a killer PC but it runs fine at 1920x1080 but with AA off.

i5 2500K
HD 7770
8 gig RAM

60 FPS.

I have been struggling to get a lot of new release games to run smooth but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game looks gorgeous and runs like a dream.
I run
GTX 550TI
I5-750
8GB Ram
120GB Samsung 840 SSD

In terms of making the game look nice compared to it's console release, is the graphical jump huge, or does it just seem like a nice polish job?

Same graphics, just looks better at res's higher than 720p in conjunction with proper AA.

To be honest I am not that impressed with the texture quality, it isn't high-end PC standard but it does the job. It is by no means ugly, but for gamers with beefy PC's they might have used better textures in my opinion.

I have not played the console version so I don't know how big the difference is.

i7-3770K
GTX 780

Running on max quality.

From my short test, the game uses 8% of my CPU; 45% of my GPU (no boost), hasn't shown a sign of dropping whatsoever.

So, runs pretty damn good. Shame it still seems to use the low resolution textures of the original.

I Dont really think much has changed from the console version. It looks pretty much exacly like all the videos ive seen on the console versions. I would call it a polished job with the addition of AA, Vsync and the ability to run at a solid 60fps. I thought i read something about HD textures, but I wouldnt be able to tell the difference with youtubes compression.
What I find funny is that the actual meat of the game is only around 1.5-2 GB. The rest of what's being taken up is straight video.
