I've read that many people here have the same problem, but is there a fix for it? I tried the download from the sticky but that didn't help since those were designed for Windows 7 and I'm on Windows 8. Any help would be appreciated.

Alternative Solutions:

- Windowed Borderless Gaming[westechsolutions.net] (a very useful tool if you tend to alt+tab often)
- GeDoSaTo[blog.metaclassofnil.com] (a bit hard to use and some anti-virus doesn't like it, but it has the benefits of integrated SweetFX and the ability to play some other games at different resolutions; doesn't lift the resolution lock for MGR, you need to use another patcher (like MGROveride[www.neogaf.com])

If those don't work, then I think the problem would be on your end.
