Achievements still broken: are you ever going to fix this?
Hi,
I've been playing since beta and am now quite frustrated, since half of my achievements have still not unlocked. What is so difficult about synchronizing the in game achievements with steam? You have repeatedly said you would fix this, so please hold your promise.
Thanks.

I started the game 2 weeks ago, and so far all achievements unlocked for me... sorry to hear that it does not work for you, but my new game seems to work ok.

This must be some different kind of issue, because all of my achievements were received after the last update.

Yeah basically everyone who started the game in beta has not been awarded their achievements. This is a joke, really. Why punish players for testing your game?
AnthonyWeiner 10 dec, 2013 @ 2:52
Interestingly enough the progress bar of these achievements is also full in steam, yet they do not unlock (that is for achievements where you have to reach a certain number).

Beta patch may help you. It's no longer working in "online" mode - saying you're using outdated version, but back when it was new, it gave me all achievement. Some people who had problems with Bronerog achievent got it via opting for beta patch.
AnthonyWeiner 10 dec, 2013 @ 13:55
Thanks for the hint. How do I do that though? Under the steam game properties there are no betas to opt into.
AnthonyWeiner 10 dec, 2013 @ 14:04
If you're referring to the beta of 1.1, just tried that. Didn't work.
Sirrus 11 dec, 2013 @ 1:11
Do you have that Bronerog heroic achievement? If not, try to opt for beta patch, complete mission to get it, then opt out. I know, it's stipud and tedious, but that's the only solution I have. Sorry I can't help you any further.
AnthonyWeiner 11 dec, 2013 @ 5:45
Thanks for trying to help, but this is really something the developers need to take care of.

"It's every man for himself!" :D

Apparently they abandoned us - even if they are online, or were online hours ago, nobody posted here for days, if not weeks or months. Strange way to support your game - let customers to stew in their own juice. Like I said somewhere nearby, I'd prefer "All Quiet on the Western Front" kind of message regularly (just to know they are alive and not abandoned this project, after all) than lack of any messages we have now. Current informational vacuum is irritating, at least. And in light of certain events, I find it... either hilarious or hypocritical, not sure which one is dominant, could be a bit of both.

Seeing this, I'll be very reluctant to spend my money or time on Nival's next project, be that Blitzkrieg 3 or Silent Storm 2.

I'm having the same problem. Beta opt in didn't help me either.
AnthonyWeiner 11 dec, 2013 @ 21:39
I must say I'm very much disappointed, considering I invested a lot of time providing feedback during the beta stage. What disturbs me most of all are their dishonest ways. If they'd have said there would be no achievement fix for beta players, fine. At least I would not have the urge to check back on this game every few weeks or so, but would rather know there's nothing coming. This feels like ordering food at a restaurant and being told that it's still in the cooking pot for five months straight.

I guess I can relate, even if I invested time in other moments, still, it's rather frustrating to see this. Maybe Depeche Mode fans could be happy - they can enjoy the silence. I do not, however. I've been away for about two months, and after my return all I saw were few posts from new players, occasional posts from old guard like yourself, Kelson or Honorable_D and that's all. For two months?

I think someone said Nival going to do something non earlier that January, but there was no specific info. Stange, I think - developers should know what they are doing and this project is hardly a secret to withhold information about it. Apparently they are following 2K with their distribution model of Xcom - wide spreading, instead of concentrating on developing one version. Why it took so long to get release on iOS, is a way beyond my comprehension.

You can try and write them. Maybe you'll get lucky and you'll get their reply - I got nothing. Not even "mailer daemon" (that could mean mailer Ordo Malleus are on guard:)) notification.
So I think it's very "interesting" way to promote your product - Segal has time to repost apparently positive comments in PW:D in his Twitter (most recent was just yesterday), yet he has no desire to come here and talk to us? According to Gamasutra, he wrote a book on marketing. I wonder how he suggests to work with community there, and how closely he follows own advice.

Oh, well, it's just pointless, voice in the wilderness...

Yeah, probably have better chances of getting an appointment with Barack Obama scheduled. Either way, ranting here is given your information and my recent experience to no effect. I appreciate the free content patch from a while back, but bugfixing does not seem to be their strength. Being a programmer myself, it is certainly the least enjoyable part of coding, but there's just no way around. You should never add on more features before confirming your product is free of bugs and well, they failed to do that. Issues like level 17 locking up the game or not finishing are much worse than these achievement issues, yet it took quite a while to take care of them as well. Shame, really.
Malice 12 dec, 2013 @ 9:11
Apparently the patch is pretty much ready from what they said on twitter and should be up end of the month.
